Meeting the Teacher

Mission Statement

My mission is to help students learn to be proactive in their education. I will strive to inspire students to set new standards of their best. Each day I will instill what it means to be respectful, compassionate, responsible, and disciplined.  Students will leave my classroom everyday feeling they reached their greatest potential.  My students will learn the problem solving skills to take on life’s difficult challenges and turn it into a positive.   I will encourage students to become life-long learners who are always willing to try and learn something new.  Most of all I want my students to believe in themselves and know I truly do!

My name is Kimberly King.  I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho.  I moved to Montana ten years ago when I joined a Forest Service Fire Crew in the Bitterroot Valley.  I enrolled at the University of Montana soon after.

I worked my summers as a Wildland Firefighter/ EMT-B until 2006.  In 2006 I spent half of a summer working as a lookout for the Bitterroot National Forest.  I student-taught here at Victor School in the Fall of 2004.  I then continued to do volunteer work here at school.  I started my first year teaching in September of 2005 at Victor School.

I taught 3rd grade for two years.  I am now the new 6th grade teacher and Native American education coordinator for Victor School.  I look forward to creating a cooperative, positive working environment for my students!  Will finish my Master's of Science and Education with an emphasis in Intregrating Technology into the Curriculumn.

I have a loving husband of three years. We met on a fire some nine years ago.  We were friends for five years, before dating.  We now have a family that consists of a little girl who is a year and a half and two wonderful dogs ( a Saint Bernard and a Golden Retriever).

My family and I are very active, out going people.  We enjoy most outdoor activities.  I really enjoy hiking.  I like to spend my winters on the ski hill. I snowboarded for 10 yrs and recently switched to skiing, what a wonderful sport!  I also love traveling.  I have visited Costa Rica, Italy, and Thailand.
